“I have worked with Stephanie for over 5 years now. She has a tremendous wealth of knowledge of birds of prey and years of experience with handling, treating and teaching others about these magnificent animals. I have learned so much from her from working with her on various cases and I have grown so much as a veterinarian. More recently, our shared love of holistic and alternative medicine has been strengthened by her own venture into the use of essential oils with birds. Essential oils are a fantastic and underrepresented tool for healing, especially with animals, and even more so with birds. There has been very little information available regarding birds and essential oils, but Stephanie has brilliantly combined her two passions - birds and essential oils - to provide a unique and much-needed resource.”

One of Stephanie’s most notable case studies

Gumdrop, Stephanie’s Laughing Kookaburra ended up with micro fractures all along his beak after a bad beak trim. She tried to find someone that could help stabilize his beak so it wouldn’t continue to crack while waiting for it to grow out, but these birds are from Australia and not common here in Southern California. She reached out to MANY different vet clinic that treated birds, as well as a few in Australia and was ultimately able to work out a stop-gap through conventional means with the veterinarian that is on the board of directors of her nonprofit “Wings of Discovery.” Stephanie ended up taking an integrative approach to fix the beak. Although the vets she contacted in Australia said it could take years for the beak to grow out to where it’s ‘normal’ again, Stephanie’s integrative approach was able to accomplish it in just a few weeks! Had she listened to the first vet she spoke with, who thought it was “minor,” Gumdrop would have ended up in a lot of pain and in need of a prosthetic upper beak, causing him life-changing issues.

Testimonial from a remarkable case on a rescue dog

“We adopted a dog from the Agoura Animal Shelter who we fell in love with, but she started snapping at our 5 year old son. Not wanting to give up on a great girl, we got her professional training. It helped somewhat, but her fear and anxiety was still there and she just couldn’t move past it to bond with our son. In swooped Stephanie with her kit of oils, and in one session, we could see the change in the dog. Using patience, knowledge, and her terrific way with animals, Stephanie was able to select the right blends and combinations to really get Akala to release that tension and trust him. Within a couple of weeks she was laying on him and snuggling him, and all of us couldn’t be happier.”

Testimonial on one of Stephanie’s personal animals

Stephanie’s 12yr old dog, Sasha, had to undergo major surgery January of 2021 to remove a few masses that were impeding her ability to walk. The two over her femoral artery turned out to be lipomas that were invading the leg muscle, causing a significant amount of muscle to need to be removed with them. The one on her shoulder was a hemangiosarcoma that was invading the supraspinatus and grew rapidly to about the size of a small pumpkin. The supraspinatus muscle had to be removed in order to get the tumor out. Stephanie used methods of self-medication with her multiple times a day using a variety of both essential oils inhaled and herbs taken internally. The following pictures were taken only 2 days apart (the top two were first and the bottom two were 48 hours later) and while she tolerated the icepacks being put over her shoulder incision a couple times, she didn’t tolerate ANY icepacks being put on her leg incisions (proving that all of her healing was strictly related to the holistic methods used). The surgical staff couldn’t believe how well she was healing when she went in for her suture removal after 2 weeks. By 4 weeks post-surgery she simply looked like she had a bad haircut as her hair had grown back almost completely to the level of the rest of her hair.
